Kylie's 1st Birthday Party!

Kylie's 1st birthday was a lot of fun, my mom, sister, and her 2 boys came from San Diego to be there for it. It was nice to have them here & they enjoyed being able to be part of it. Neighbors came over to have some food & the kids had a blast in the jumper and hitting the pinata. I was bummed that my dad was not able to make it from San Diego, he started a new job and taking time off was not an option. The weather was perfect and made for an awesome day outside. Here are some picture from her big day. The thought that she is already a year old, walking, babbling and trying to keep up with Kayla is crazy. These girls are a handful...got to love them.

On that note Kayla is definitely in her terrible twos, she has started throwing MAJOR tantrums, weather it is over eating, making her come inside they are in full effect. I was talking to my mom about this yesterday & guess what she said..."Oh boy Beth she reminds me of you"...THANKS MOM!!! My mom said one time I threw such a tantrum that she had to leave a grocery cart in full in the middle of the store to take me outside to calm me down. I guess my mom will be getting pure pleasure watching me get paid back for all I did to her! Travis and I are just rolling with the punches and not letting her get a reaction from us. Eventually I know it will pass.

So I thought we were FINALLY on the road to recovery...
1:00 am on Saturday Kayla woke up screaming, so I went in there & there was just NOOOO way she was going back to sleep. We went down stairs and I put on Polar Express, she calmed down and we just sat and watched that. Then I went to lay her back in bed & she was screaming again. So now it is closer to 4:00 am & I am pretty sure it was time to head to Good Night Pediatrics. They close at 5:00 am and we got there at 4:57, they checked her out & guess what.....DOUBLE EAR INFECTIONS. One ear was so bad it was on the verge of rupturing. All in all we got her taken care of & she was given some drops for instant relief. Finally got home at 6:00 am and off to bed we went to get a little sleep. The story gets better we had 2 couple at our house who got to partake in all this crying. Perfect birth control I tell you. So my friend Jenn went with me to urgent care and Trav & his friend Chris stayed asleep cause they were going to the golf tournament in the morning. Us girls were suppose to go to the zoo but with the lack of sleep we took it easy and just hung around the house.

This last week has been miserable at the Free household. Everyone has been sick and not been outside, which leads to cranky kids. We had family in town for a party & of course one of the kids had a bad cough. Soon as they leave all four of us are congested and coughing. Sunday night Kylie had me up at 12:30 and did not go back to sleep (in my arms) till 3:30 SCREAMING!!! The following morning Travis & I took her to the pediatrician & there was our answer....DOUBLE EAR INFECTIONS! Kayla was congested and had a cough but they checked her out & she was good to go.

Last night however I wake up at 3:00 am to Kayla screaming...so I go in there and she is really warm, so I get her medicated & leave the room. Screaming again I go in there and lay with her, every couple minutes she would lift her head up & touch my arm to make sure I had not left. So needless to say our house has not had much sleep. Travis said this morning they are making a turn & seem to be felling much better! Thank God for amoxicillin and benadryl! They have saved us!

Golf Tournament & Friends!

This weekend we have 2 couples coming to visit! All the guys will take of Saturday morning and go to the Waste Management Golf Tournament in Scottsdale, while all us girls will head to the Zoo & shopping. For the last 4 years the same people come out and we do the same thing. It has become a ritual & one we look forward to. The guys have a lot of fun at one of the loudest holes in golf (pictured above) While us girls go to the zoo with the kids & then shopping.

Friday evening we are going to have BBQ with our friends & of course Scott, Lora & Bruce! It will be fun & will post pictures next week.

* 5oth Wedding Anniversary *

Last week we had about 30 people at our house for a 5oth wedding anniversary! We had it catered and spent all afternoon decorating. Nancy & Murray have been married for 50 years, that is a true accomplishment. They are such an awesome couple and I am lucky to have them in my family. We had family and friend come from San Diego to share this moment. They were so happy & even brought tears to my eyes during the toast. Not many people can say they have been married for 50 years & these 2 are truly in love. They are actually the only family we have here in Arizona, everyone else is in San Diego.

Kylie Beth is going to be a year old in less then a month. I cannot believe how time flies. I remember the first day Kayla met Kylie at the hospital her smile was priceless! Then when we brought her home Kayla's look was even better..."Wait she is moving in"
Kylie is such a big girl, she eats ANYTHING and EVERYTHING! I am soooo excited to celebrate her 1st birthday with family & friends. My mom and sister our driving out to spend the weekend with us. My dad started a new job so he was unable to come with them. I got a call last night & he is going to fly a Cessna here here on Saturday morning & be here for the party!! So excited for him to be able to be here. He got his pilots license almost a year ago! I am so happy they will all get to be here to celebrate!

I am not quite sure what to get her for her birthday! We got her her big girl car seat & are considering a little poo for the summer time. She loves bath time and here in Arizona the pool will pretty much be a bath!!

We absolutely love the Wild Life World Zoo!!
In San Diego they have a huge Zoo but it is not nearly as intimate as this Zoo! I cannot believe how close you are to everything. Kayla is in love...all we hear is monkey noises and she acts like she is swinging like they do! It is nice to be able to go there and fell like you are not in Arizona. Next year we will definitely get year passes.

Time to play catch up on my blog!!!

In November went home to San Diego for Thanksgiving & Travis's 10 year Reunion! We had such a good time! One of our first nights out with no kids, responsibilities & actually stayed out late. Getting to see all your friends from high school was awesome. To see what people are up to, who married who & who has children.

Mine & Travis story is one they were all so happy to see & hear! We met his senior year. Everyone we do not keep in touch with were so happy to see we had made it. We are married, with 2 beautiful girls & are really enjoying life. I will find a picture from 10 years ago & put it on here! It was also funny to see our friends who have not changed...literally look the same, act the same & well you know...The ones you see & think "Boy they will never change"

Either way it was a nice evening out & a very nice atmosphere & awesome to see everyone in one place!

San Diego

We visit San Diego quite often being all of our family is there! Everytime we visit Travis always takes a couple pictures of the sunset & in the morning off my parents balcony at the beach! Our family is extremly lucky to have this condo, my Gpa gave it to my parents once all us kids move out. Kayla is in love with the beach & spends most of her time on that balcony when we are there! PERFECT I already know what my next post it! Back to original reason for this post... We have soooo many awesome pictures that I have FINALLY came up with our bedroom decoration. I am going to frame these pictures and hang them in our room & with black vinyl lettering put "Life is Better at the Beach!! I think it will go well since our room is blues and tan. I will post pictures after the completion :)

We are actually leaving next Tuesday for San Diego for Thanksgiving & Travis's 10 year reunion! We are spending Thanksgiving day at his dad's house and then Friday with my family! His reunion is Saturday night in Downtown San Diego at Dussini's Bar & Billiards! Really fancy...I am excited because Travis and I do not get out much so it will be fun to get out & somewhere that is really nice. My mom is excited cause that means she gets the girls & have Gma & Gpa time! Pictures to come!!

Kylie Beth is such the opposite of Kayla! When we had Kayla we were very lucky to have such a relaxed and quiet child! Kylie is soooo much fun but she also has this personality of her own. She will climb on anything, eats anything and everything & is a complete dare devil. At least a couple time a day you will hear a thud & there is Kylie falling off whatever she has decided to climb. She is eight months old & already has 8 teeth...at this time for Kayla she was getting her 1st tooth...NOT her 8th! Kylie has already learned to crawl up the first stair...I think watching Kayla is making my Kylie grow up fast :(

There are really cute together though & I thank God for 2 healthy children! We are truly blessed!

Well it is official I am addicted to Scentsy!! It is a flame less candle that you burn the wax in a cute ceramic holder that has a light bulb. The scents are amazing and makes the entire house smell yummy! Check it out www.scentsy.net

Manager at work introduced me, I literally spent 3 days smelling all the scents! If you want to smell to let me know & I can bring them home for everyone to smell! Here is a picture of the warmer that I picked since it matches my kitchen. Either way I got 9 different scents...some Holiday ones and some that I just had to have!! Now I do not have to buy a candle every week! This wax lasts forever!!!

Halloween

Halloween this year was so much fun! Kayla actually understood that she was saying Trick or Treat at every door & in return they gave her candy! She had so much fun with all the neighbor girls! Kylie on the other hand decided to take a late nap & missed out on most of the evening! We bought 2 bags of candy from Costco and it was all gone.

There were so many people in our neighborhood & since it was on a Saturday night all the neighbors stayed outside for a while! I liked the fact that we FINALLY found Kayla's costume & it was at least somewhat Dora! It was the Dora Wishing Fairy!! Really cute & she did not want to take it off at the end of the night.

Kayla Rose had such a good time at her 2nd birthday! She went down for a nap at noon and the party was starting at 2 so we had 2 hours to decorate. When she woke up at 2 the look on her face was priceless. She was soooo excited to see Dora all over the house! There was balloons, figurines and streamers. I was really nervous about the pinata...Kayla & I went to her best friends birthday & Haley was terrified of her pinata and screamed when all the kids were hitting it with the bat. Well Kayla did awesome & was actually upset when we took the bat to give other kids a chance.

She got sooo many awesome gifts and A LOT of Dora stuff. We started yesterday on her Thank You cards that she is making herself with her art set. Needless to say they are very interesting and I think everyone will get a good laugh! Overall the day was such a success & she was EXTREMELY tired at the end of the night. It was nice to have my mom and dad from San Diego come in for the occasion!

We went to San Diego for an extended weekend! The weather was great & it was awesome to see family! We did not stop the entire time there, we had a wedding, a test, dinners & Monday Night football at a friends. I will post pictures soon, I have been trying for the last hour and no success. Now that we are back home OF COURSE Travis & Kylie are sick!

You never realize how much you love your home & the normal nights at home till you are away & in complete chaos. While in San Diego we had the family bed....both girls with us & I am so sleep deprived that I now need a vacation from the vacation.

One of the best parts of our trip was on Sunday my mom made a wonderful dinner...her homemade carne asada....her secret recipe. After years of begging she taught me how to make it. I am sure that it will take numerous tries, but I am ready & am going to be making it soon! Another really cool thing was while my mom, sister and I cooked on Sunday my dad took Travis flying all over San Diego county in his cesna airplane. Travis took some awesome pictures....

I absolutely love Halloween...I love the costumes, and I love the weather. Yesterday Travis, the girls and I sat outside and decorated. Kayla is not into the scary things, I took her to Party City...well with all the scary figues hanging and the spooky music...she was ready to leave. So needless to say the ghosts we got to hang up are friendly looking ghosts. After we decorated Kayla was soooooo excited to see the lights and pumpkins after it was dark.

I am not sure what she is going to be for Halloween yet....Kylie is going to be Tinkerbell. There were so many costumes to pick from. So we are going to go next week and see what she likes. NOTHING SCARY! I am actually nervous about Halloween night with all the costumes and people she will see.

We leave Wednesday for San Diego, we have a wedding and Travis has his journeyman test on Friday! He has to take in California because we paid for the test almost 4 years ago but then moved here. It is valid in Arizona as well. So keep him in your prayers this week, it is a four hour test! I am sooooo excited to see my family & friends but NOT excited for the car ride....a 2 year old and 7 month old! I will let you all know how it goes and will post pictures while we are there!

Okay lets hope that I can take 5 minutes each day & keep this updated! My mom would love to be able to open my blog each day & be able to see her girls! This has been a very busy & blessed last 6 months. Kylie Beth was born on March 9, 2009. She is now 6 months old....crawling, eating, 6 teeth and very big girl already! Onto Kayla she just had her 2nd birthday! She is such a big girl and takes such good care of Kylie. She wanted to have a Dora the Explorer party. She was beyond excited to walk down stairs after her nap to see all the decorations!

Other then the 2 girls we are doing extremely well. I finally got a job back with my old company & have to drive 2 minutes to work!! Travis takes his journeyman electrical test on October 16th...so keep him in your prayers. He passes that and a lot of doors will open for him! Well this is all for now....Tomorrow I will do a post of Kayla's party & all the fun pictures!!!!

This is going to be a big weekend for us...we have friends coming in from San Diego for Travis's Birthday/FBR/Superbowl!!!! Busy weekend...I am really excited though! I love football & friends and of course good food since I am 7 1/2 months pregnant! I will make sure to post some pictures! Saturday the guys go to FBR....Travis, Alex, Chris, Scott! They will have such a good time. Then Sunday we are having friends and neighbors here for Superbowl & doing a potluck appetizer type thing.

Oh and tonight Travis's started painting Kylie's room.....Pink & Chocolate! It is going to be soooo cute. So for all of you visitors you will be sleeping in a pink & chocolate room! I think Travis wanted to paint the room to make Alex sleep in it. Alex and his wife Kim are having a boy & Travis really wants a boy.....so to torture Alex he is making sure he sleeps in a pink room!

We had such a nice visit with my best friend Claire & Haley! They got here last Thursday & left on Sunday! Kayla had such a good time...Haley is almost 4 months older then Kayla so they have a blast playing with each other. It was also nice to have my best friend here to hang out with & be girls for a couple days! We sent Travis off golfing on Friday & us 4 girls hung out. On Saturday we took the girls to the park & to feed the ducks, so that was nice. The only thing was is I have been so sore with this pregnancy so I am sure I was not as fin as normal but Claire & Haley were fine with what we did & of course enjoyed the weather...

So we know all trips come to an end but the last night they were here Haley woke up in the middle of the night with what seemed to be the flu :( But she went through the night & the next morning seemed fine! Well needless to say when they got home Claire came down with it only worse! Thankfully they are all well now & still had a great time! I will post some pictures tomorrow of their visit!

Well today was the big day & I got to see Kylie in a 3D ultrasound! It was awesome the technician was so nice and gave me a DVD that I could take home being that Travis could not be there! So that was awesome. When I got home Kayla, Travis & I sat down to watched the DVD and we tried to some what explain to Kayla that this video was her little sister! My doctor said that Kylie is measuring maybe a week early! AHHHH!!! I was not ready for her normal due date yet alone a week earlier! We have so much to do before she gets here....We need to finish her room, taxes, find Travis a job, get the house ready & clean, AND not to mention SPRING TRAINING!!! If she is a week early I will only get to go to one game! Just kidding I am so excited to meet her...I will let Travis & Kayla venture to more Padre games while Kylie & I bond & learn to breastfeed!

We have decided that her room is going to be pink & chocolate! So cute...my mom got the bedding for her room when she was here for Christmas! Thanks Mom!!!!! When we go to San Diego for my friends wedding in February we are going to have a little get together with some of my girlfriends...I am really excited for that. I do not get much girl time over here...also considering I do not have a lot of girlfriends over here! So it will be nice to see them all at one time & of course at my moms house!

Make sure you say a little prayer today for Travis! He has a telephone call with a recruiting officer for the Arizona Department of Corrections! He has a real interest in it & if he passes this initial screening then he will need to go down there for a real proper screening. It would be a difficult start...a 9 week intense training down in Tucson...paid of course. Either way if he passes the screening or not at least keep us in your prayers that he will find something! He has been looking everywhere & having a hard time finding anything!

Ducks...

Last weekend we took Kayla to Surprise Lake! She had such a blast...these ducks were so people friendly~! There were literally eating out of Travis's hand. I got nervous there were geese there to & they would come right up to you. We stayed there until we were out of bread, and when it was time to go Kayla cried with real tears & kept reaching & pointing to go back. Broke my heart but that is her new thing she will cry with tears when you do not let her have her way. We are going to go back there this Saturday to take Claire & Haley there! So I know Kayla will be excited...

Okay...I know I have not been on here in a month! The holiday were busy & fun! I will try to be more dedicated and post at least once a week! Kylie Beth will be here in 10 weeks...I feel like yesterday I found out I was pregnant. I have my 3D ultrasound tomorrow and I will make sure to post those pictures on here. I feel like everything is coming together, the New babies room, the house, Travis's job hunt...I feel content that between now and March God will see that we are alright for the arrival of Kylie. Kayla is beginning to realize what is going on she rubs my belly EVERY day & makes sure to kiss it & even tries to say sister. I get anxiety thinking about how she will respond to having a new sister, but I think she will do okay! Our neighbors Scott & Lora brought over their little one Bryce & Kayla would not leave him alone...patting him & kissing him!

As you saw on my previous post my family was out here for Christmas so I will post a couple pictures from that & then will be back tomorrow to post ultrasound pictures of Kylie! Also my best friend Claire come in to Phoenix on Thursday with her daughter Haley!! She is 4 months older the Kayla but they are so fun to watch play...so I am sure I will get some really cute pictures of that!

We took Kayla to see Santa on Sunday....

It was a traumatic experience! She was so upset & SHAKING! I felt horrible! It took almost 15 minutes after leaving the Santa for her to stop shaking and realize she was okay! So needless to say we did not purchase any pictures...the ones from our camera told a good enough story. The sad part was that the Santa was a dud...he did not try to even sy anything or do anything to help the situation! If you look at the picture you can tell he is looking at the photographer like "Are we done yet??" Maybe next year!

Christmas is my favorite time of the year! The past couple years Travis & I have loaded up the honda and off to San Diego we go...however this year my family is all coming out here. With Travis and I having our own home is time we have a nice Christams here. We a.re going to have a house full...my parents are coming, my sister & her two kids, my brother his girlfriend & hopefully his two kids. I am really excited that we will all get to be together. Not quite sure what we will do the whole time they are here...we are thinking a drive up north to let the kids see the snow. Anyone have any ideas...they will be greatly appreciated.

After a successful move back to Arizona I am finally back on this blog! We are so happy to be home & are finally getting back into the swing of things! I am back at work & Travis is currently looking for a job & watching Kayla while he does so. I cannot tell you how much Kayla has changed these last 2 months, she is no longer a baby but a little girl. She eats anything and everything I eat & has this little attitude! She is still such a joy & I am excited that in just a few months she will have a sister. I am nervous to have another as I have not forgotten the pain from having Kayla but I am excited that Kayla will have a friend and someone who looks up to her! I am making a promise that I will update this daily as I know my mom and Gpa will enjoy this! Miss you San Diego...but am glad to be home!

Preparring fo Kayla's 1st Birthday

So we have started to prepare for the big birthday party! It is on September 20th and I could not be more excited for it! We are having it at a park in our old neighborhood, so it is a middle location for everyone. I am going this Friday with my mom to get all the decorations...in case you are wondering we are doing a ladybug theme. Kayla's room in Arizona is all LADYBUGS so we have decided to keep the theme going & do her first birthday. I expect at least 50 people there or so & have decided to get a jumper for the older kids to enjoy while they are there! I feel like I am doing all this planning and Kayla will not even know what all I have done, but it is too fun to not plan it! I put a picture above of the park where it is at. It is called Dallas Park, I grew up there and thought itwould be nice to do Kayla's birthday there!

Kayla is a very busy girl, every time I turn around she is into something! She gets more daring everyday! Makes me a nervous wreck! Everything I do she wants to be right there. I have been blessed to spend the last 3 months home with her, and believe me we are together all day! So I have been able to enjoy all the new things she is doing....even the bad ones!

As for now the Free's are in San Diego. Travis got laid off from his job in Arizona so we took off to San Diego for a job offer, after getting here we REALLY realized what we had! So needless to say we are trying to get back as soon as possible! We miss everything there in Arizona! Kayla is such a big girl and has changed so much in 3 months, today for the first time she took her first 3 steps all by herself! I never understood when other mothers said " I am always on the go" Well now I do, I never sit except when she takes her LITTLE naps and to think I only have ONE child!

I am new at this blog thing so bear with me if I make mistakes!
